Gospel of Unbelief

Nietzsche again criticizes religions, especially Christianity, in the 3rd piece of work I have read from him. Both Christianity and religion have a large following for beliefs that have yet to prove many of their claims. Nietzsche believes that religious followers are narrow-minded and damage society as a whole. They should be able to see through the fallacies of religion, yet they blindly hold onto their faith. Those same people should be using their given intellect to pursue, what is in reality, the truth. However, they let the religious sects doctrine their lives, telling them what is moral and what is immoral.

Nietzsche believes that all ethics and moralities can be discovered without the help of any religion. People just need to realize that they can think outside the box on their own. They don’t need an unnecessary guideline called religion in their lives. On top of that, Nietzsche also believes that not only is religion useless, but it corrupts the mind in a sense that it diminishes the ability to think critically.
